Copper beryllium sheet formed into a cone

A 0.3 mm thick copper beryllium sheet was formed into a cone. The sheet ends were welded without filler material. The particular challenge is to achieve the same physical properties in the weld area with regard to ductility and fracture behavior as in the base material. After each test series, metallurgical examinations were carried out until the required values were achieved. This ultimately made it possible to form the sheet-metal parts without any loss.
